Creating a Quote for StarLab

Updated on

This article will walk you through the process of creating a quote for StarLab in Experlogix.

1. Create a new quote in CRM.

2. Complete any applicable fields in the quote header. This includes Quote Type, Name, Target Price, and Price List.

Opportunity Type = New Client

Price List = Dynamics NAV Default Price List

3. Save your quote.

4. Select "Configure" in the quote navigation bar to launch Experlogix.

5. After Experlogix loads, select the X to close the licensing error.

6. In the home screen, select StarLab.

7. When StarLab is selected, the configurator opens to the home screen.

8. Select the components tab to choose the items for the quote or select the component in the left side filter categories.

9. Once a component is selected, you can adjust the quantity. The “Quantity” is overwritable. Highlight the number and enter the desired quantity of the item.

10. The “List Price” for the FEES and Repair categories are overwritable. Highlight the $0.00 and enter the correct price. The extended price will update when the price is updated.

11. In the “Totals” tab or “Quoted System” in the left-hand menu, you will be able to apply the discount. The non-discounted training and fees are listed as subtotals.

The discount is a slider bar you can move with your mouse to the desired discount or final price. The % is displayed in the slider square indicator and in the bottom banner. The discount amount is displayed in red.

If you exceed a 10% discount, an error will generate, and the display will change to the following with the totals being highlighted red and the error message displayed. You will be able to save the configuration in this error state.

12. When the configuration is saved and closed, the final price, quote discount % and selected components are transferred to the CRM quote.

The fees and repair prices that were entered in the configurator are transferred to the quote also.

13. Save the Quote and then Activate the quote to transfer to a BC quote.

  1. In the ribbon, select the 3 ellipses and then 'Activate Quote'

14. Once the quote is transferred (~ 5 minutes), the BC quote number will be populated in the CRM quote. Use this number to look up the quote in BC in order to release, print and provide to the customer.
