How to Change a Student/Instructor Password or Email

Occasionally, a student or instructor will be unable to reset their password for various reasons and they are locked out of their account. You can use this process to help a student or an instructor access an existing account in an emergency.

You can also change a user's email address used for login. This most commonly is needed when a student registered for their course using an incorrect email and this needs to be corrected.

1. Impersonate the student or instructor

2. Select "My Account"

3. In the "My Account" page, you can edit the user's name, email, and password. Follow the steps in the dropdowns below

1. Type the email address the user would like to use in the "Email" field

2. Select "Save"

3. Inform the user that the change has been completed

Warning: This password reset is a last resort option! The first resort should always be for the individual to reset their password using the "Forgot My Password" button on the login screen

1. Select "Change Password"

2. Type in HOL54321 in both password boxes

3. Press "Save"

4. Email the new password to the student or instructor

Provide them with the appropriate link below with instructions on changing their password away from the default you set it to.
