In the Add a New Institution page or Edit Institution page, you will find the option to Override International Shipping Fees. This feature allows international institutions to be able to be billed for a portion of the shipping fees for students' kits.
This feature is for special circumstances only. Use it only after obtaining permission from accounting, sales management, and the institution themselves. Be sure to document the arrangement in the institution's record.
What this does for the customer.
- Charges international students the same flat-rate shipping fees as domestic students (currently $22.95)
- Turns off expedited processing option
- Turns off expedited shipping options
What this does on the back end.
This adds two lines to the PO: One for the actual price of the international shipping as a positive number and one for the actual price of the shipping as a negative number. This enables accounting to see what we actually paid for shipping so that the institution can be invoiced for the difference between that and the flat rate charged to the student.
