1. Navigate to the SI Portal Demo Site and login with your user credentials.
SI Portal demos are hosted at sig-test.mobius.cloud. Your user login will be your SI email.
2. Navigate to and select the first course listed in the demo request.
The demo site includes all "Full Discipline" courses. These courses will include all labs in a discipline, including digital and hands-on. There are two ways to access the demo courses.
1. Select the desired course from the home page.
2. If you do not see the desired course on your homepage, navigate to the "Class Manager" drop down and select "List Classes." This will bring you to a list of all active classes on the demo site. Use CTRL+F (CMD + F) to search for the discipline.
3. On the class homepage, select "Add Child Class" from the Class Details section.
The new child class created here will become the site for instructor demo access.
4. Update the demo class instructor to the demo account for the institution.
On the "Class Manager" page, set the instructor for the course. This will default to the user who is creating the course. Select "Change Instructor" below the instructor name field.
The demo account for your institution must be set up before creating the demo course. If you have not set up the demo account, review the Setting Up a Demo Account in the SI Lab Portal article.
Search for the demo account for your institution on the User Search page. Type in any key word, then select the "Search" button.
It is generally recommended to search using the demo account email.
Be sure to select "Anywhere" in the Match setting to populate the broadest results.
After completing your search, select the correct demo account. Then select the "Update" button at the bottom of the screen to assign the course.
5. Set up the demo course access for the institution.
Fill in each of the line items on the "Class Manager" page to create the demo course. Details for how to fill in this information are provided below the screenshot.
To set up the demo course:
- Set the class name to Institution + Discipline + Demo
- For example "Test University Biology Demo"
- Set who can enroll to "Students with Class Link"
- Set Default Role in Class to "Instructor"
- Select the "Submit" button.
Class Short Name and Course ID are not required for a demo course setup, but can be used if desired for recording the institutional course number.
Once you select the submit button, you will be redirected to the homepage of the demo course.
5. Set up the demo course access dates.
On the demo course homepage, select "Class Info."
Then, select "Edit" under Class Details.
On this page, you can edit any details previously inputted as needed. Scroll down to "Class Dates" and set up the demo for 30 days. Then, select "Submit."
6. Your demo course is now created!
If the instructor requires additional demo courses, set those up following the same process. Otherwise, you are ready to send your instructor their login credentials!
