Adding the Kit Inventory Lesson to Existing Courses

If an instructor requests the Kit Inventory lesson in a course that has already been created for the upcoming semester, find the tab below that corresponds to the course's situation and follow the steps to make the lesson available to the instructor.

LTI integration is NOT being used

Expand or collapse content No student work has been done, and the course is not LTI integrated.

1. Create a clone of the course.

Students will be enrolled in the new course when using the new enrollment link. If a student unlocked their kit in the old course, the access will carry over to the new course.

4. Retire the old course.

Students will be enrolled in the new course when using the new enrollment link. If a student unlocked their kit in the old course, the access will carry over to the new course.

4. Submit a "move student data/instructor notes" ticket to the Cloud Support team.

Be sure to include the following information in the ticket:

  • Old course's URL
  • New course's URL
  • Names of students who have completed work in the old course.

5. Once you have received confirmation that the data transfer to the new course is done, retire the old course.

1. Create a clone of the course.

2. Have the instructor update their course hook in their LMS.

We recommend using the regular course hook to verify that the new course is set up correctly, and then switching over to the master course hook after verification.

If the instructor requests help in this setup process, submit an LTI integration ticket for help from our Cloud Support team.

3. Have the instructor add the Kit Inventory lesson hook to their course.
