Instructor demo accounts allow instructors to review SI content prior to selecting labs for a kit. Instructor demos are hosted on the SI Portal Demo Site to keep them separated from active/live courses.
1. Navigate to the SI Portal Demo Site and login with your user credentials.
SI Portal demos are hosted at sig-test.mobius.cloud. Your user login will be your SI email.
2. Select "Add User" from the "System User Manager" drop down.
Navigate to the "System User Manager" drop down in the upper right hand of the page. From the drop down menu, select "Add User."
If you are unsure if an institution already has an account, select "User Search" from the "System User Manager" drop down. For best practices in performing user searches, review How to Search for a SI Portal User.
3. Create a demo account for the institution that can be used by any instructor.
Fill in each of the line items on the "Administer Users" page to assign the system role and the user details. Details for how to create the account are provided below the screenshot.
To create the user account:
- Set the "System Role" to Instructor
- Set the user name
- First Name = Institution Name
- Last Name = Demo
- Display Name will be automatically populated
- Set the student ID, email, and user login to the demo email account.
- Email should be set to the institution name + "@labportal.com"
- Set the default password to Science101!
- Uncheck the check mark selected on "Require user to validate on next login." The demo email address is not real and users will not be able to validate if it remains checked.
- Select "submit" to create the user account.
