This process begins with a new course adoption or SKU change notification. Follow the steps below to create a new BOM for a course.
1. Have your New Adoption or SKU Change notification available for reference.
2. Go to Sales Quotes in NAV. Search Kit No. for HOL & SI, Customer Name for ESL.
3. Select "Configure" to open Sales Quote Configuration in ExperLogix.
4. Review/Audit Adoption/SKU Change adoption Labs to listed in ExperLogix.
4.1. Make any required changes or contact sales rep for identified issues.
For example, if the number of or description of labs on the adoption does not match the ExperLogix configuration.
5. In the sales quote, select "Make BOM."
5.1. Select "Yes" and then "OK" in the confirmation popups.
6. Open Production BOM in NAV.
7. Change the Unit of Measure Code according to brand.
- PCS for HOL
- EA for ESL or SI
8. Review BOM list for items requiring quantity changes.
9. Add or remove PPE based on guidance from Curriculum Development.
10. Change any individual items to sub-assemblies if applicable or previously requested by Production Team.
11. Add Box or Foam.
11.1. Determining size of BOM (sum of the # of items on the BOM to determine "routing size-SML, MED, LRG, XLRG") or depending on certain items on BOM (e.g., human skeleton)
11.2. Foam Pad or Foam Pieces
- Pad - dissection specimens present on BOM
- Pieces - ChemBags present on BOM
12. Change BOM status from "Under Development" to "Certified" using the dropdown.
13. Select "Click here to create a new note."
13.1. Add note.
- Date
- "Certified"
- By whom (your name)
- Action taken ("New" for BOM creation)
- Select "Save"
