Clients may request changes to their SKU for several reasons. These are the most common reasons for SKU changes:
- reduce price
- better align their kit with their student learning outcomes for the course.
The following process should be followed when a SKU change is requested by a client.
1. Contact the warehouse and the institution's bookstore to determine the kit inventory levels
If significant inventory remains in stock, set transition timeline expectations with client so that existing inventory is utilized.
2. Obtain the list of lessons the client wants to use in their course
In the case of a price reduction, the client may be interested in virtual options but unclear on what is available. In this situation, we recommend requesting a lab alignment via the curriculum ticketing system, specifying a request for digital lab options.
3. Review the list of changes for the following information and proceed accordingly
- Is the client requesting standard lessons only? If so, proceed to Step 4.
- Is the client requesting portions of experiments/lessons be removed? If so, return to the client to discuss further options. This is not allowed under the new lean process.
- Is the client requesting new materials be added (whether we currently source or would need to source new)? If so, this must be approved via the Custom Material Review Process.
4. Using the list of labs supplied by the client, determine whether that group of lessons already exists with a SKU
Utilize the SKU Lookup Tool to do this step.
5. If an existing SKU does not exist with the desired labs, proceed with the standard kit quoting process
The curriculum development team can recommend digital labs but cannot quote the kits for you. Please do not ask curriculum development to provide labs that meet a specific price point. They do not have access to Experlogics.
