By following this comprehensive sales process, the manufacturing plant can effectively assess the feasibility of building a product within the specified timeframe and deliver high-quality products to its customers.
1. Initial Inquiry
The process begins when a potential customer submits an inquiry regarding a product they are interested in purchasing. This inquiry could be submitted through the company's website, email, or a direct phone call to the sales team.
2. Information Gathering
The sales team collects detailed information about the customer's requirements. This includes specifications, quantities, quality standards, and any distinctive features the customer may require.
3. Configuration
The sales team creates a custom configuration of lessons and materials in Experlogix/CRM.
4. Proposal Creation
Based on the detailed feasibility analysis, the sales team creates a comprehensive proposal for the customer. This proposal outlines the product specifications, estimated production timeline, pricing, and any terms and conditions.
5. Customer Communication
The sales team presents a proposal to the customer and engages in discussions to address any questions or concerns. They provide insights into the manufacturing process, highlighting how the customer's needs will be met.
6. Expectation Setting
If within 4 weeks of the need-by date, the sales team will set expectations with the customer that the adoption is outside of our normal turn-around time and the company will need to assess any limitations to filling the order within the time frame given. If during this process, the customer needs firm confirmation before signing the agreement, the team will complete the Detailed Feasibility Analysis using the quote instead of the adoption.
7. Negotiation and Agreement
The sales team and the customer negotiate terms, including pricing, delivery schedule, and any customization requests. Once both parties are satisfied, they reach a mutual agreement and sign the adoption.
8. Detailed Feasibility Analysis
The manufacturing team conducts a detailed analysis to determine if they can accommodate the customer's request within the specified time frame. This analysis involves evaluating factors such as raw material availability, machine capacity, workforce availability, and any necessary process modifications. If any limitations are found, the manufacturing team will communicate back to sales an updated fulfillment timeframe.
9. Resource Allocation
With a signed adoption in hand, the production planning team allocates the necessary resources, such as materials, machinery, and manpower, to begin the manufacturing process.
10. Regular Updates
The sales team maintains regular communication with the customer, providing updates on the production progress, including any changes to the fulfillment time frame. This helps manage expectations and ensures transparency throughout the process.
11. Quality Control
The manufacturing process includes rigorous quality control measures to ensure that the final product meets the customer's specifications and quality standards.
12. Final Inspection and Testing
Before shipping, a final inspection and testing of the products are conducted to ensure they meet all requirements and are ready for delivery.
13. Delivery
The manufactured products are shipped to the customer's location according to the agreed-upon schedule.
14. Post-Sale Support
The sales team continues to provide support to the customer after the sale, addressing any issues that may arise and ensuring customer satisfaction.
