Experiment Number Format.
All Experiment Numbers follow this four-category format:
For example, SM-0099-10-01.
Each of the four categories of data for the Experiment Number corresponds to a relevant piece of information about that experiment.

This is the 4-digit numeric code that uniquely identifies the experiment.

Revision number of the experiment. As experiments are created, they will be assigned -01. If the experiment is ever revised and updated, its revision number will increase sequentially (i.e., -01 to -02)
