We are currently experiencing an issue with instructors being able to demo Beyond Labz from an instructor account.  We are working with the developers to fix this issue.

In order to allow instructors to demo Beyond Labz currently, they must access as a student To do this: 

• Submit a demo request to Lexie. Request access to the course "BL-Instructor-Demo" 
• Note in the ticket that your client requires the student enrollment link for the demo course to review Beyond Labz .
• Send the enrollment link to the instructor and have them enroll as a student. Note that they will need to use a different email than used for their instructor account. 
• Once the instructor has enrolled in the instructor demo, the course will need to be unlocked for the client to access all of the labs. Please note pre-reqs have been removed so that instructors can directly access the lab of interest. 

• Interactive Introductory Content
  • Every lab incorporates at least one interactive (animation, summary image, interactive activity, etc.) in the Exploration to increase student engagement with the curriculum.
  • These are designed to blend seamlessly into the curriculum and are always called out ahead of time in the paragraph prior with directions as to how to interact with them.
• Beyond Labz Digital Lab Benches
  • Ever lesson includes fully digital lessons using the expansive, detailed laboratory benches provided by Beyond Labz.
  • The Beyond Labz lab benches are an open-ended interactive lab space, including equipment and chemical stockroom, in which students can preform a wide range of experiments, including calorimetry, titrations, and qualitative analysis.

•  Customizable Assessments
  • All Beyond Labz lesson include a wide range of multiple choice and short answer questions.
  • All questions can be customized using our custom question authoring feature.

• Cloud is WCAG 2.1 compliant.
• All images use alt tags.
• Interactives, including digital experiments, are all designed to be screen reader compatible.

• Labster
  • Offer 77 chemistry lab simulations, but many cover the same/similar topics (e.g., three simulations on the differences between acids and bases).
  • Highly gamified content. Laboratory content can often get lost in the gamification element of the interactives. Students more focused on the story than the actual lab experiments.
  • Limited customization available. Cannot remove the gamification elements or update assessments.

• What hands on lessons do the Beyond Labz virtual lesson align to?
  • The lessons listed in the table below are a direct alignment of the digital to our hands-on options.

In some cases, clients looking to reduce kit cost may be more flexible on the topics covered, and may chose to replace other lessons with the digital, even though it's not a direct alignment (e.g., replacing Identification of Gases with Ideal Gas Law - Digital, or replacing Antacid Analysis and Titration with Titrations of Acids and Bases - Digital).

• What is the pricing for the Beyond Labz digital chemistry lessons? 
  • Beyond Labz will be a $30 flat fee add on. This pricing will remain the same whether a kit includes one lesson or all nine lessons.

• What standards are the Beyond Labz lessons written to? 
  • The Beyond Labz lessons are written to SI standards. That being said, they can be customized with any available HOL chemistry lessons, including GOB and Organic Chemistry.

• Will there be a new standard, all-digital Chemistry kit available now that Beyond Labz is here? 
  • Yes, SI-10503-CK-01 is a package of the nine digital Beyond Labz lessons. It is priced at $69.
